Numerical Solution of Dual-Phase-Lagging Heat Conduction Model for Analyzing Thermal Propagation

Thermal wave propagation based on dual-phase-lagging heat conduction model irradiated by laser heat source has been investigated. The heat source is modeled as time varying and spatially decaying. The effect of different parameters on temperature profile has been observed. Results were obtained by high order unconditionally stable compact difference scheme. The whole analysis is presented in dimensionless form. A numerical example of particular interest has been studied and discussed in details.
